What does resilience mean to you?

Last month, I started teaching English in local primary and secondary schools.

Sometimes I need to use a mix of Cantonese and my broken mandarin.

They are not top students.Some of them don’t speak a word of English. They don’t know phonics.

Here are some insights I share at the start of every class:

1) I started to learn English in year 9.

“You are not late, you are early.”

2) 3 months before the public exam, I got E in my report card.

“Aim to pass everything was what the principal wrote to me.”

I got A in my exam.

Everything is possible. Don’t worry about the incremental result. Low score.

Your habit will take you where you want to be.

3) Don’t try to memorise simple tense, past tense, gerunds.

Speak.
Make mistakes.
Improve.

4) I am not your teacher, I’m just your guide.

5) I don’t want to teach you technical skills.

I want to teach how you think - you mindset.

Because the quality of your thought determines the quality of your life.

And you can apply it to every challenge you meet in school, at work and in life.
