Hong Kong activist returned from Chinese prison found guilty in national security case.

A Hong Kong pro-democracy activist, who had been detained in mainland China after trying to flee the city by boat, was found guilty on Thursday of conspiracy to commit collusion with a foreign country in a national security case.

Andy Li was among a group of 12 people intercepted by mainland authorities in August 2020 on a boat believed to be en route to Taiwan, in a case which drew international attention and concern over their treatment in China.

⭕ BREAKING :- The death toll from the Myanmar coup has risen to more than 1,000, according to AAPP reports

The death toll from a coup in Myanmar in February this year has risen to 1,000, according to an official of the Association of Political Prisoners' Assistance (AAPP), which reports the killings by security forces.

A spokesman for the ruling junta did not respond to a request for comment. Military officials have previously said that the number of AAPPs quoted by international organizations is exaggerated.
The army also said that a large number of security personnel were killed. AAPP does not include them in its calculations. "According to AAPP reports, 1001 innocent people have been killed," AAPP secretary Tate Nine told Reuters on Wednesday. "The actual number of victims is much higher."

Thousands of security forces were reportedly detained during the crackdown, and extensive reports of torture continue.
The coup has shaken the Southeast Asian country, with daily protests, insurgency in border areas and widespread strikes that have severely damaged economic growth.

⭕ BREAKING :- New Zealand became the latest country to be confirmed by the Delta epidemic

The Delta variant is New Zealand's first case of cov- ers in 19 months, and genetic sequencing suggests it may be linked to an epidemic in neighboring Australia, Prime Minister Jacinda Arden said.

The country of 50 million people was locked across the country just hours after being confirmed infected with the covid-19 virus on Tuesday night, and New Zealand authorities announced on Wednesday that they had confirmed six more positive cases related to the first incident. One of the new cases was working at a hospital in Auckland.
This marks the first confirmed case of a Delta variety infecting New Zealand due to the epidemic. Earlier this month, the World Health Organization (WHO) said more than 142 countries had reported cases of the Delta variety.
New Zealand Director General of Health Ashley Bloomfield warned on Wednesday that the country could see between 50 and 120 more patients, depending on the design of the Delta variant.

⭕ BREAKING - Snake surprises shopper at Sydney supermarket

A grocery run turned into a snake rescue for an Australian woman when she was greeted by a python poking out from a supermarket shelf.

Helaina Alati, 25, was at a Sydney store on Monday when the 3m non-venomous snake slithered out.

The Woolworths supermarket lies on the edge of a large expanse of bushland on the city's north- west outskirts. But encountering a snake in the spice aisle is not what Ms Alati expected.

Fortunately for both parties, Ms Alati is a wildlife rescuer and familiar with snakes And "I just turned my head and he was about 20cm from my face, just looking straight at me," she told the media.

⭕ BREAKING :- Facebook confirms banning all Taliban-related content

Facebook has confirmed that it views the Taliban as a terrorist organization and has therefore banned all content that supports the group from its platforms. The company says it has a special team of Afghan experts to monitor and remove content related to the group.

Facebook stressed that the policy applies to all its other platforms, including Instagram and WhatsApp.

However, there are reports that the Taliban are using WhatsApp for communication. Facebook told the media it would take action if the app could link to the group of accounts.

Rival social media platforms such as Twitter and YouTube have also been scrutinized on how to handle Taliban-related content.

Another 200 UK troops sent to Kabul evacuation

A total of about 900 UK troops will patrol Kabul's airport after chaotic scenes on the runway, as part of efforts to secure evacuation flights.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab confirmed 350 more UK nationals and Afghans who worked with UK troops would be evacuated in "the days that come". He said the UK was considering how many Afghan refugees it would take in.
