For Thanh Nguyen (), Vietnam is more than just rice paddies, bamboo, pho, and coffee. The country is rapidly emerging as a hub for innovative retail, and one of those avenues is through perfume.

Saigon-based VENUE is at the forefront of this movement. While most houses treat fragrance as a singular product, Nguyen’s team creates "scented artifacts." Through cinematic world-building and multisensory storytelling, is crafting a sophisticated new vision for modern fragrance.

The internet promised to make us smarter. Instead, we’re all just marinating in an endless feed of unsubstantiated takes, content under the pretense of “look at me, look at me,” brain-dissolving reels.

“Brain Rot” is our quiet acknowledgment of this (unfortunate) digital moment in time. It’s a small collection of merch created with friends who understand the irony of posting about digital fatigue on social media. It also hopes to remind us to find those real moments in life as an effective way to counteract what a lot of us have become.

This couldn’t have been done without the amazing work of Sunny and Stephanie .st as they created graphics that feature over T-shirts, totes, and water bottles.

“VERNOM” by offgod:tate, a collaboration with A.SOCIETY

HK artists Andrew () and Tate Mok (.archive), collectively known as offgod:tate, present their villain concept, “VERNOM,” at eyewear imprint A.SOCIETY’s () gallery space within Kowloon’s .

A.SOCIETY approached the brothers for a collab campaign after seeing their custom eyewear designs for A Bathing Ape’s BAPE HEADS Show 2023.

“They hit us up after seeing our stuff on BAPE. They were like, ‘We know eyewear and you guys know design’.” — Tate Mok

The centerpiece of the pop-up—the second following an inaugural event in Shanghai back in Nov—is an intricate sculpture representing a conceptualized supervillain dubbed, “VERNOM.”

Iterations of the supervillain are seen throughout the collab pieces, which include customizable eyewear and accessories.

“Honestly, we just love being inspired. I can get inspired by pretty much anything. And we get to work with people also from HK, which is always a plus.” — Andrew Mok

The VERNOM series will continue, with its next destination yet to be announced. As for Offgod and Tate… “we’ve got some crazy s**t planned in the next few months. We don’t wanna spoil it. Just wait. It’s literally something on my dream list that I can’t believe we’re doing.”

Stay tuned for a deeper dive interview and conversation amongst friends with , Andrew, and Tate coming soon.

DO SOMETHING. MAKE A WHOLE BUNCH OF REALLY BAD WORK. IT DOESN’T MATTER. DON’T BE AFRAID TO JUMP, AND EVENTUALLY, YOU’LL FIND YOUR WAY THROUGH IT.”

NORI RASMUSSEN-MARTINEZ / PHOTOGRAPHER

In her short career, Nori Rasmussen-Martinez (.rasmussenmartinez) has already built an impressive resume with the likes of Stussy, Apple, and Union LA alongside commissioned works and titles with HAMBURGER EYES, Terminal 27, COMFORT, and the Los Angeles Times. She has sped through her early career’s formative phases—no easy feat for a burgeoning artist. We tapped Nori to see how she views her own progression as an artist and how that sits with the general landscape of photography.

To guide this dialogue, we invited mixed-medium artist and Nori’s ArtCenter College of Design professor, Ken Marchionno (), to reminisce over their teacher-to-student college days, the current landscape of freelancing as a photographer, and explore why it was that Nori picked up a camera in the first place. Together they discussed the challenges early success brings in a photographer’s broader journey, and what advice an experienced creative can offer.

Check out some of Nori’s stunning portraiture and the dialogue between her and Ken above, and grab a copy of the Golden Generation zine from select retailers and our web store to read the full story.

“ONCE YOU START LEARNING ABOUT ANGEL NUMBERS, YOU THEN START NOTICING THINGS.”

THUY / SINGER / SONGWRITER /

If you’re unfamiliar with Angel Numbers, it represents a sequence of repeated numbers—typically as a set of three of four—that can appear anywhere from your clock, to a time on your song track, to an amount on a receipt. If you’ve noticed them and they feel significant, it’s most likely an Angel Number. What they signify is all down to you.

For singer-songwriter, Thuy (), they remind her that she’s on the right path and to believe in herself. For Thuy’s friend and our feature interviewer, Monica Kran (), they’re a guiding force and signs that her brother is watching over her.

The two sat comfortably in Thuy’s home as they caught up with each other, explored their individual connections with Angel Numbers, and went on a deep tangent about representing Southeast Asian women in North America and beyond.

Check out some of the photos from Thuy’s feature above, shot by Angella Choe (), and grab a copy from select retailers and our webstore to read the full story.
