Chinese rescue teams continue search efforts in the mudslide-hit area of Xizang's Gyirong. Firefighters crawl through the thick mud, gripping a rescue rope as they search for the missing.

"Our people are down there. We’ll find them and get them back," said an immigration inspection officer from the Xizang Border Control General Station.

Meanwhile, footage captured a butterfly quietly landing on a rescuer's helmet. In many cultures, butterflies are widely seen as the embodiment of human souls.

A robbery in heavy traffic in São Paulo, Brazil, was captured on dashcam.

Two men approached a car as traffic slowed, smashed the window and snatched the driver’s iPhone from near the dashboard. The victim was Brazilian automotive content creator Tábata Lenk. After the robbery, she sat stunned for several seconds before breaking down in tears.

The victim Tábata Lenk said the thieves later transferred about 2,000 Brazilian reais from her bank account — nearly all the money available at the time. Lenk has reported the case to police, locked her phone and disputed the bank transaction.

As of 12 p.m. on August 31, the G216 highway leading to Gyirong Port had been cleared to within 1.1 kilometers of the port.

According to engineers from China Anneng Construction Group, the repair work remains extremely difficult due to strong river currents.

They said that after stones are dumped into the river, nearly two-thirds are washed away by the fast-flowing water. For each truckload of stones, only about one-third effectively remains in place.

Crews are using coordinated multi-machine debris transfer and underwater stone-filling methods along damaged sections of the G216.

Large rocks are being layered to reinforce the roadbed, with workers pushing forward section by section to restore the critical route to Gyirong Port as quickly as possible.
