The new issue of Befores & Afters is out!

In the latest issue, we go deep into the visual effects of Danny Boyle's with Union VFX.

Included in the coverage is also a deep dive into the cinematography of the film with DOP Anthony Dod Mantle, where he discusses the use of iPhones and the array rig that was developed (as shown in this video).

There's A LOT covered in the mag, from all that work, to key scenes, shooting with drones, astrophotography, and a special bonus look at the VFX of .

How those adorable sheep in ‘The Sheep Detectives’ were made -->

Today on the Befores & Afters podcast, we’re talking about the film, 'The Sheep Detectives', directed by Kyle Balda. On the podcast we have two visual effects artisans from Framestore in two separate interviews.

The first is with visual effects supervisor Graham Page. And then we follow that up with the film’s second unit director, Tim Webber. With Graham, we run through all the VFX considerations on the film – how plates were filmed, acquiring sheep reference, asset builds and the lengthy post process.

Then with Tim, we dive into the second unit side of things, something which I don’t always get to do interviews on. Tim also talks about process, and mentions some fun scenes including one that didn’t make it to the final cut, and also the tricky process of making a chicken cross the road.

Excited to reveal two covers for two upcoming Befores & Afters magazines!

--> 28 YEARS LATER & MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS, season 2

For '28 Years Later', I've been diving deep with the VFX team from Union VFX, and also talking to a number of crew members, including Anthony Dod Mantle. It also includes a special look at 'The Bone Temple'.

Then, for season 2 of 'Monarch: Legacy of Monsters', I've also done a deep dive with VFX supervisor Sean Konrad and a host of vendors.

These mags are coming soon, and will be available in PRINT and DIGITAL.
