Something a little different is coming to Bangorโs Ward Park this Saturday morning as runners taking part in Bangor parkrun will be greeted by live DJs and energetic music from the historic bandstand.
The new community initiative, called Bass Makes Pace, aims to add an extra dimension to the weekly parkrun experience by creating a lively atmosphere to motivate and encourage participants as they make their way around the course.
The event has been developed by local runner and DJ Paul Carson, who was inspired by the potential of the parkโs iconic bandstand after years of participating in parkruns both locally and across the UK, Ireland and beyond.
From 9am until noon, a line-up featuring DJ Boy, DJ Jay Dee, Terry Coyne and Paul Carson himself will provide a soundtrack for the morning, with music spanning a variety of genres to appeal to runners, volunteers and spectators alike.
Professional sound and production support will be provided by Crux Productions, bringing club-standard equipment and live event expertise to the park in what organisers hope will become a regular feature in the future.
The event is completely free to enjoy and offers a unique blend of music, fitness and community spirit in one of Bangorโs most loved green spaces.
Whether youโre chasing a personal best, volunteering on the course or simply enjoying a Saturday morning stroll through Ward Park, expect a little extra energy in the air this weekend.
