Hong Kong, China karate queen Grace Lau captured the gold medal in the Women’s Individual Kata event at The World Games 2025.
This is also Hong Kong, China’s first medal at the Games in Chengdu.
Wong Po-kee, Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong, China Delegation to The World Games 2025, hailed Lau’s performance, saying she “showcased her skills as a world top-ranked athlete.”
“She competed in five matches spanning eight hours,
from morning to night, but still she progressed with ease and delivered in every match,” he said.
“This gold medal marks Hong Kong’s first at the Games, a proud achievement that not only celebrates Grace’s success but also inspires fellow athletes as they prepare to compete.”
