I embarked on an ambitious endeavor this summer of 2025, aptly named "Project 82," with the goal of exploring all 82 provinces of the Philippines. To kickstart this adventure, my friend and I decided to immerse ourselves in the captivating beauty of Limasawa Island, located in the province of Southern Leyte. Our accommodation of choice was the charming Dakdak Beach Resort, and let me tell you, it surpassed all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine Filipino hospitality. The staff at Dakdak Beach Resort exemplified world-class customer service, going above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to make last-minute changes to our itinerary. Despite being fully booked for our intended first night, the staff at Dakdak Beach Resort didn't hesitate to assist us. They went out of their way to help us find alternative accommodation at another homestay service for the night, ensuring we had a comfortable place to stay. Their willingness to help, even when their own resort was at capacity, was truly remarkable. The following day, we seamlessly transferred to Dakdak Beach Resort, and our experience only got better. The food, oh, the food! It was a culinary journey through the heart of Filipino cuisine. Being a fan of home-cooked meals, or "lutong bahay" as we call it, I was absolutely delighted with the resort's offerings. Each dish was prepared with fresh ingredients and bursts of authentic flavors that transported me back to my grandmother's kitchen. What impressed me the most was the affordability of their menu. Not only were the portions generous, but the prices were incredibly reasonable. Their "tinolang isda (tangegue)," a traditional Filipino fish soup, was a revelation. The broth was rich and flavorful, infused with the delicate taste of fresh tangegue fish. And let's not forget their "pancit bihon," a Filipino noodle dish that was simply divine. For a mere 250 Philippine pesos, we were served a platter piled high with flavorful noodles, enough to satisfy the appetites of four to six people. It was incredible value for money. Our accommodation at Dakdak Beach Resort was equally impressive. The rooms were cozy and spacious, providing a welcome respite from the tropical heat. The ambiance exuded a sense of tranquility, allowing us to fully unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The gentle sound of waves crashing against the shore provided a soothing soundtrack, lulling us into a state of pure relaxation. Dakdak Beach Resort is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience. It's a testament to the warmth and hospitality of the Filipino people, the deliciousness of Filipino cuisine, and the breathtaking beauty of Limasawa Island. It's a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered.
My trip to Dakdak Beach Resort was nothing short of unforgettable. It left an indelible mark on my memory, and I'm already yearning to return. It's a destination that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking an authentic Filipino experience, complete with stunning natural beauty, exceptional service, and delectable cuisine. Dakdak Beach Resort has undoubtedly secured a spot on my list of must-visit destinations in the Philippines, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit.
