The Low Country High Points - 3 Peaks, 3 Countries, Half a day.

With the clock ticking and a ferry waiting for us in Calais, we set out on a fast and focused mission: tick off the highest points of the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg - all in half a day.

While these are far from towering alpine giants, each summit marks the top of it's nation, and together they offered a unique road trip style micro adventure on our way home through the heart of northwestern Europe.

High Point - 20/48 ✅️
Country: Hungary
Peak: Kekes
Elevation: 1014M

Yes everyone! It's been too long 😢

Our trusty VW, the black pearl, is due for an MOT, so we've embarked on a mission to get it from Albania where it was parked back to the UK.

On our route back we decided to knock off a few high points, the first of which being this one in Hungary.

It's been a tough couple of months for us, having to come to terms with the fact we could no longer challenge for the world record has been hard, and we've both been feeling pretty low about it.

It wasn't our skill level or our determination that meant we had to stop, it was our finances due to unforeseen circumstances, and that has been a bitter pill to swallow.

All the same, we've come to terms with it now and the challenge still remains the same, to reach the highest point of every country in geographical Europe.

We can't thank you all enough for the support, donations and everything in between, it's been one hell of a journey and we're only just approaching the half way mark.

We're still raising money for two amazing mental health charities as we work our way round, so drop a few shillings towards the cause if you can afford it.

Onwards we move! 💪

"Taking risks doesn’t guarantee success, but playing it safe rarely leads to greatness. Sometimes the leap doesn’t land, but the courage to jump is what sets dreamers apart from spectators." - Two dreamers from Wales

We'll be back soon, just trying to superglue our lives back together quick.. 🫣😂

High Point - 19/48 ✅️
Country: Albania/North Macedonia
Peak: Mount Korab
Elevation: 2764M

3 days / 3 High Points / 4 Countries ✅️

This peak is a shared high point between North Macedonia & Albania, and what a trail it was! 😍

This brings our balkan leg to a close and after a short break with our families, we'll be back for some serious climbing! 💪

Thank you everyone for your continued support! 🫶

We're back in full swing! 🫡

We spent the night in Sofia last night, got a cheap apartment to get ourselves back together. We got a curry in and looking back now, pretty sure that urge came from climbing a mountain called Musala 😂😂

We're moving with some pace again now and it feels good to be knocking them off in quick succession! On to the next! 🔨

High Point - 17/48 ✅️
Country: Bulgaria
Peak: Musala
Elevation: 2925M

Another one in the win column. Legs were still feeling the aftermath of Mount Olympus, but we got after it. Might’ve gotten a bit too cosy in the Musala Hut, which meant we dragged the day out longer than planned, no regrets though..

The views were otherworldly up there today, we sat there watching the storm rolling in over the mountains in the distance until it gave us the sign to head down.

Another top notch climb! 👌

High Point - 16/48 ✅️
Country: Greece
Peak: Mytikas / Mount Olympus
Elevation: 2918m

The summit of Mount Olympus, Mytikas, was said to be the home of the gods, where Zeus and the rest of the Olympians ruled from the clouds. Locals didn’t dare climb it, thinking no human could survive that high up. It wasn’t climbed by man until 1913.

After a solid day of climbing, today we stood where gods were once believed to live, ticking off peak number 16 in the process.

The last week or two have been a whirlwind, but today was one of those incredible days that made it feel like it was all worthwhile! 🫡
