Love the artwork on their albums. Personally, I think Jim Fitzpatrick is a genius.
Also, after watching a documentary about TL, I came across an absolutely crazy fact about Phil’s early childhood.
“When Phil was born, his mother, Philomena, was kicked out by her landlords. She was forced to move into a home for unmarried mothers where the nuns would try to force her to give her son up for adoption. They told her that they would tell her staunchly Catholic parents back in Ireland that she had given birth to an illegitimate black child. Eventually, she sent baby Phil to stay with his grandparents in Dublin, Ireland.”
Absolutely horrific in my opinion. 🇮🇪

Queen. The first band that I fell in love with. 👑
It was the summer of ‘98 and my father had just taught me to record vinyl albums from his collection of lps to cassette tape. I was over the moon and of course, the first to go were all the Queen albums my dad owned at the time. Those were A Night At The Opera (I will never forget the sheer dread I felt listening to The Prophet’s Song on headphones being in fourth/fifth grade of elementary), Works, Hot Space and A Kind Of Magic. Needless to say, I melted the cassettes in my Sony walkman, day in, day out. They were the soundtrack to my life. 🥰

I was reading Spot’s Big Book of Words to my daughter and came across two illustrations that almost perfectly capture the reality of my two jobs (spinning vinyl is something I do rarely when I dj because I do not own the equipment I would haul around). Other than that, it’s uncanny really. 👨‍🏫🎧
