The Makarska Riviera actually hides two distinct, world-class malacological collections, and both started as pure passion projects by two locals who couldn't keep their eyes off the sea. 🦞

📍 In Makarska, collection features over 3,000 specimens, ranging from local Adriatic depths to rare pieces from Antarctica, alongside a fossil collection from ancient oceans.

📍 Just up the coast in Baška Voda, this collection tells a different story. It connects local marine life with unusual specimens brought in from across the Atlantic.

They are a great reminder that the best part of the beach might actually be the intricate worlds we usually swim right past.
