Trivent Publishing belongs to Trivent Conferences, an international company with headquarters in Budapest (Hungary) and with over 25 years of experience in the field of academic event management. SJT Trivent opened in Budapest in 1993 with the main purpose of organizing academic conferences for universities. In the years 2000, the company worked for the European Commission, while today Trivent is

the head of an event organizing consortium for the Union for the Mediterranean. Throughout its existence, Trivent Conferences worked with some of the largest academic publishing houses in the world and thus learned the skills and methods employed by professional academic publishing. This materialized into Trivent Publishing in 2015, but we only came into full working schedule a few years later, around the year 2017, thus making us a very young publishing house. Trivent Publishing serves the academic community by publishing peer-reviewed volumes dedicated to academic research. Our main focus (and passion) is publishing books in the general field of history and the specific field of Medieval Studies through our Trivent Medieval imprint. Trivent Medieval is a growing imprint, currently holding 10 book series on varied subjects ranging from art history to equine history. Our two other imprints, Trivent Violence & Conflict and Trivent Ethics in Science & Technology, publish books dedicated to studies on the philosophy of conflict and criminology (including our Philosophical Journal of Conflict and Violence), as well as bioethics and applied philosophy.

🚨 New Publication Alert! 🚨
We are proud to announce the release of LATIN AMERICA REPLIES TO TRANSHUMANISM: A SYMPOSIUM ON SORGNER'S WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN CYBORGS, edited by Nicolás Rojas Cortés.

This groundbreaking volume marks the first collection of essays by Latin American thinkers responding to Stefan Lorenz Sorgner’s provocative work "We Have Always Been Cyborgs" (2022).

Addressing key themes such as the denial of fixed human nature and truth as correspondence, the book explores Sorgner’s Nietzschean transhumanism—an approach that embraces both alethic and ethical nihilism.

How should Spanish-speaking scholars respond to such a vision of techno-optimism? This collection opens up a much-needed philosophical debate around emerging technologies and the nature of our humanity.

📢 New Release! We’re proud to announce the publication of CRIME, VIOLENCE, JUSTICE: PHILOSOPHICAL PERSPECTIVES, edited by M. Blake Wilson (California State University, Stanislaus) ⚖️🧠

Far from being purely theoretical, this volume raises urgent and pragmatic questions about how we can reimagine justice. Drawing on diverse philosophical traditions and global perspectives, the contributors shift the focus to those most affected by criminal justice systems — the defendants and their communities.

A must-read for anyone seeking bold, critical, and innovative approaches to the pressing challenges of crime, violence, and justice in today’s world.

📢 We are pleased to announce the upcoming release of MEDIEVALISM IN RUSSIAN AND UKRANIAN POLITICAL DISCOURSES, edited by Anastasija Ropa.

Since the dissolution of the USSR, medieval history has been a powerful tool in Eastern European political narratives. Figures like Prince Vladimir/Volodymyr the Great and Ilya of Murom have been contested symbols, claimed by both Russia and Ukraine. ⚔️🏰 The ongoing conflict has only intensified the use—and misuse—of medieval history in public discourse, education, and propaganda.

This multidisciplinary volume brings together international scholars to explore how medievalism appears in statues, fiction, cartoons, tourism, and popular history, revealing its role as both a political weapon and a cultural foundation.

📅 Available in print April 2025! Stay tuned!
