My conversation with curator Pau Waelder for Niio Art is now live.

We spoke about myth as a living system rather than a fixed archive and about how immersive and time-based media can create spaces for reflection rather than spectacle.

The interview touches on montage as a method, CGI as a poetic tool, displacement across the Mediterranean, and the role of sound in shaping emotional and embodied experience.

Grateful to Niio Art for the thoughtful questions and for the space to unpack my process.

For years, we were told that technology would liberate us.

Instead, it quietly began to shape the rooms we sit in, the rhythms we follow, even the way we imagine the future.

We can write a different story. One where creativity steps in, not to decorate the machine, but to expose its seams. To redirect its logic toward people rather than systems. Media art is soft infrastructure: it can open cracks where genuine public experience can breathe again.

My project Midday Muse for META London sits inside this tension. A classical fragment in a hyper-modern workspace, a reminder that our tools have histories, and our environments have consequences.

So here’s an invitation to the tech world: bring artists into the room. Commission work that unsettles, reframes, rehumanises. It changes more than a wall, it changes the story a company tells about itself.

Two screenings of "Here and Now: Artists' Videos from the UK #1" took place under the section The Suspended Glance — a beautifully curated collaboration by researcher and curator Laura Leuzzi and artist and lecturer Elisabetta Di Sopra.

✨ I’m incredibly proud that my animation "Aurea" was part of this international selection, screening alongside powerful, thought-provoking works by fellow UK-based artists.

"Aurea" is a meditative animation that explores the delicate entanglement between nature, memory, and transformation through flowing, golden imagery and dreamlike soundscaping. Grateful that the piece found its place and voice within such an atmospheric and historic context.

A massive thanks to the curators, the festival team, and everyone who came to watch, discuss, and share. These dialogues across borders are what keep moving contemporary art forward. 💬🌍

Video Art Miden collaborates with MOMus-Experimental Center for the Arts in Thessaloniki (GR), in the frame of the exhibition “We Are All Made of Stars: Digital media and new technologies in contemporary art practice”, curated by Domna Gounari.

The awareness that our earthly world is composed of the same materials as the vast and mysterious expanse of the space surrounding us lies at the heart of the new exhibition at MOMus-Experimental Center for the Arts (Warehouse B1, Pier A, Thessaloniki Port) from 12 December 2024 until 23 February 2025.

Opening: Thursday 12 December 2024, 20:00.

The exhibition brings together both established and emerging artists, who are presenting new works and visual art proposals from the past decade, alongside with contributions from Fine and Applied Arts students, who participate with completed projects and works in progress; at the same time, the exhibition is the result of the collaboration of MOMus-Experimental Center for the Arts with festivals, cultural organisations, workshops and artistic platforms –Video Art Miden, Ars Electronica, TILT platform– that promote digital art and new media.
