Goodbye 2025

As we step into a new year, Dalmata Daniel thanks all artists, venues, Triple Vision, and everyone supporting our releases, events and keeps the underground moving.

We had big plans for 2025, but unfortunately we could not make everything happen as we wanted. Still, we are super grateful for all the releases and events that did come together this year. These included our 10th digital EP, another fundraiser compilation, our 10th split vinyl, our 10th lathe cut EP, and a cassette release. We also had the chance to host a live acts showcase at MZH in our hometown, because last year we won have won the Independent Label of 2024 award in Hungary.

Shifting Bits marks the first full-length statement from 𝟮:𝟮𝟵, a rising young artist from the Netherlands whose debut track appeared earlier this year on Dalmata Daniel’s Pride Or Die compilation. That release was not only his introduction to the label, but his first official released track and now followed by a fully realized eight-track cassette bringing his voice into sharp focus.

Rooted in shadowy, melody-streaked electro, the five original tracks (including one self-rework) revolve around the idea of transition and transformation. The title Shifting Bits reflects 𝟮:𝟮𝟵’s background as a software engineer: in computing, shifting bits alters values, creates new ones, or even causes loss, an irreversible process that parallels the way sound, workflow, and artistic intention evolve. Moving from DAW-based attempts to a more tactile hardware approach, these tracks capture the moment where experimentation starts crystallizing into a distinct voice.

The cassette is rounded out by three remixes: a distorted and vintage-melodic rework from fellow Dutch producer 𝘽𝙚𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙠𝙪𝙨𝙩 who is also well-known on Dalmata Daniel, a darker, driving version by Croatian veteran 𝙇𝙚 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙩 𝙉𝙤𝙞𝙧, and a contribution from Budapest’s 𝙃𝙖𝙙𝙧𝙤𝙣 𝙇𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙣, his third appearance on the label, who reshapes the original into cold, atmospheric form.

Shifting Bits captures a phase of artistic development: subtle changes accumulating into a new direction, where each shift adds a different weight and character to the sound.

The cassette edition is limited to 60 copies and comes with a printed 3-panel J-card, an orange cassette with on-body printing, housed in a clear case with spindle and shrinkwrapped
