‼️Special announcement: Due to the last minute (and post-last minute) volume of applications, we thought it fair to extend the deadline of the competition for a few more days until 15 May 2025 so that everyone gets the chance to submit their applications to PMIC & PMIC Pro this year.

This 15 May deadline will not be extended any further, however, so please make sure that you submit your applications on time until then, thank you!

To all the competitors who have already entered this year, thank you for your patience, we will be in touch with everyone in due course! 🏆⭐

Wishing you all the best,
Dániel Bolgár

Depth in a mix is often a matter of how listeners perceive space and distance. Reverb is one of the primary tools for creating this illusion. Below is a breakdown of how specific reverb settings (Pre-Delay, Decay, and Size) contribute to depth, and how tone (brightness vs. darkness) also plays a key role.

No Reverb: Super close and in-your-face.

Pre-Delay: The time before reverb kicks in. Longer pre-delay = less distance, shorter = further away.

Decay: How long the reverb lingers. Longer decay = a larger, farther space; shorter decay = closer, tighter space.

Size: Simulates the room’s dimensions. Bigger size = more depth, smaller size = more intimacy.

Tone: Brighter sounds feel near; darker tones are perceived as farther away.
