Thrilled to share that the Californian production company Sa-Loan has enlisted my expertise for color grading scenes in their latest feature film, 'The Pushover.' This remarkable project, spearheaded by ABDUL T. SESAY - a talented Writer, Director, Producer, and my esteemed colleague - represents a cinematic endeavor of great importance. 'The Pushover' is a film I firmly believe should be compulsory viewing for everyone aged 16-17 and above. It delves into themes of respect, understanding, and forgiveness within the realms of family and relationships, offering profound insights that, I daresay, could have salvaged numerous relationships had they been exposed to its message sooner.

This film stands out for its unique narrative structure, seamlessly weaving documentary and narrative filmmaking techniques. Thanks to ABDUL T. SESAY's exceptional direction, the transitions between these styles are as smooth as slicing through melted butter. Well, aren't we lucky ducks? We had the privilege of witnessing—and even participating in—the birth of a brand-new brand https://www.instagram.com/yolihungary/ ! There's something magical about bringing something (or someone) to life. I whipped up a script, set up my fancy mobile studio, and rolled out my top-tier gear. Timi is a hair-braiding maestro, so you bet your boots this shoot day was one for the books. And guess what? Our dog Jacky even snagged a role (kidding, she just chased her tail). In just eight hours, we shot five episodes of hair-braiding tutorials. I've finished the color grading and editing, and boy, did the episodes turn out fabulously. Welcome to the latest episode of 'Behind The VFX Magic'! ✨

Filmed just a hop, skip, and a jump away from what I firmly believe is the world's second most tedious intersection. Using my drone for that perfect aerial view (always at a safe distance from traffic – no falling drones on my watch!). Can you discern Budapest's distant silhouette on the horizon? That's our secret little nod; she's being a tad shy today! 🤫

But let's get real, merely watching cars zip by isn't cinematic gold. In the world of stock footage, you gotta bring the razzle-dazzle. Since I have a thing for water, I splashed in lakes on both sides. On the left? A hint of Stonehenge vibes. But I restrained from going full Stonehenge – we need our speedsters in the spotlight. Because let's face it, B-roll is the unsung hero that stitches our visuals into a masterpiece. 🚗💨

Well, the temptation was just too strong to resist photobombing yesterday's scene again. I mean, who wouldn't want to be flanked by an epic cloud and mirror-like lakes on both sides? It was practically begging to be in the shot! The whole view is teetering on the edge of surreal. I'm half expecting a unicorn to trot by any minute now. I'm quite fond of it, to be honest. How about you? Is your sense of reality bending yet? 😄🎥☁️

Can you spot the city in the first seven seconds? No? Don't worry, I had trouble finding it too, and I'm the one who made it! 😄 But I bet you nailed it by the fourteenth second. Today at noon, my trusty drone and I set out to create a 'beachy' twist on Budapest. Now, at midnight, the VFX scene is finally ready! 🌊 Welcome to Budapest Island Resort – where the city meets the sea. Who knew Hungary was hiding its own tropical paradise? 🏝️

On Sunday, regretfully, my plans were thwarted by strong winds, preventing me from taking flight. However, come Monday, conditions were just right. So, in the early evening, I took to the skies with my trusty DJI Mini 3 drone. The footage was captured in Pest County, in the beautiful town of Göd, right from the banks of the Danube River, using 10-bit D-Cinelike mode.

The 10-bit D-Cinelike mode renders a 'flat' image in terms of color range, precisely what's needed for color grading - a technique at which I excel. The vibrant blues of the Danube, the lush green of the grass, the deeper shadows - all have been finely retouched.

Alright, film fanatics and beach bums! Brace yourselves for a sun-soaked spectacle that has nothing to do with sunbathing. Welcome to the most captivating beach in New Moon City, owned by none other than the shady Darius Darkwood. His loyal minions have rolled up to the secret parking lot, discreetly nestled into the mountain, and our little big boss is about to make his grand helicopter entrance.

Wait, was that a disaster prepping meeting I heard? Looks like things are about to get interesting, folks. But hold on to your popcorn, there are no ruins to see here... yet.

Now, here's where it gets fun: this cinematic setting wasn't created in some Hollywood studio lot, but shot around the stunning Porto Santo Stefano in Italy. With a sprinkle of VFX magic and a dash of CGI creativity, I transformed this beautiful slice of Italy into a clandestine gangster paradise.

I carved out a parking lot into the mountainside, whipped up a helipad, and even created a barely visible road winding down the mountain. And because no self-respecting crime boss would arrive at a meeting any other way, I made sure to direct a helicopter onto the scene.

Lights, camera, action, and... whoa, hold on! Did Széll Kálmán tér just go through an apocalyptic makeover or did a two thousand meter high mountain suddenly appear in the neighborhood? Welcome to the city of New Moon... or at least, what could have been!

Let me set the scene: I was diving deep into my stock archive, hunting for a spacious location bustling with people-vehicles. Széll Kálmán tér caught my eye, but wait a minute, are we about to give this location the 'Mad Max' treatment? Too many details, too much work, and not enough gasoline to fuel my VFX roadster.

But as they say in the film biz, the scene was already set, the green screens were up, and my CGI wand was twitching with anticipation. So, why not play around a little?

Picture this: what if the engineers decided to play Jenga with the city's architecture during the renovation of Széll Kálmán tér? They could have taken down the Mammut plaza, bulldozed a few rooftops, and hey presto, erect a two thousand meter high mountain because... why not? It's just a 'minor' change, right?

And would you look at that? The results are staggeringly cinematic, the atmosphere is spectacularly stunning, and lo and behold, there's even room for my studio right back there! Can't you spot that standout three-story building, crowned with a neon sign that practically screams 'glcFILM"

If you can't, then I guess I better get back to my CGI toolset. It's all in a day's work for a VFX artist, after all!

Roll up, film fanatics! Have you ever had a meal at a place so gloomy it feels like you're dining in a dystopian novel? Well, pull up a chair at my favorite composition in the charming town of New Moon.

And get this: this scene, with all its post-apocalyptic ambiance, was actually shot in Óbuda, a district in the heart of Budapest, Hungary. So next time you're wandering around Óbuda, keep an eye out for some dystopian dining spots!

According to the script, our characters exchange some snappy dialogue in a restaurant. But this isn't your average eatery. The coloring screams 'post-apocalyptic chic,' and the overall composition is a masterclass in depicting beautiful decay.

I generally prefer my lunch venues less... er... 'atmospheric,' but our film's characters? They can't get enough of this place. This environment is more than just a backdrop - it's a reflection of their inner turmoil, their true essence.

But here's the twist, Hungarian roads are a sight for sore eyes and ensures they're always s***k and span. Solution?
