Whether in, on, or under the ocean, it is the one place where I truly feel at home and a place where I can always be my authentic and often silly self.

It is where I work, spend time with friends, and where I find my true love... 🦈

The ocean provides, takes, and it never stops teaching. It is nature in its rawest, purest, and most beautiful form.

This last year, I have spent more time than ever around and I the ocean and it only continues to provide more and more remarkable experiences I am privileged to enjoy.

On this World Ocean Day, take a moment to appreciate the ocean and all that it provides. We often protect what we love and the more people who experience, understand, and connect with the ocean, the better chance we have of protecting it for future generations.

Happy World Ocean Day 🌊

Still reflecting on what an incredible whirlwind Sharks International 2026 was.

I had the opportunity to present some of my ongoing PhD research, completely nerd out over all things shark science, and learn from such a diverse and inspiring group of researchers. The conference sparked so many new ideas and potential avenues for future elasmobranch research.

It was also amazing to reconnect with old friends and colleagues, while meeting so many new people and opening the door to exciting future collaborations.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible hosts and team at (trust) — thank you for putting together such a fantastic conference.

And finally… see you all at the next SI in 2030 in Sabah

Wherever you are in the ocean unfortunately seeing the negative pollution of humans is becomina more of a common occurrence...

And with entanalement like this it requires patience and careful precision not to damage the coral further.

This coral is being suffocated from light and nutrients from the fishing line, cloth and plastic enshrouding it. Hopefully removing it will allow it to recover but its a stark reminder of our negative influences as humans we have on the marine environment...

Deep down in the darkness, the light glows and all you hear is silence or the whirring noise of Judy...

Met this little guy on my deco stop at 6m...
It swam down to me first and then maybe ran away thinking the big, scary, bubbleless creature keeps looking at me... 👀
