Happy 57th Birthday to Ralph Edward Tresvant.

Born May 16, 1968, He is a singer, songwriter, actor and record producer, best known as the lead singer of R&B group New Edition.

When he was in junior high school, some friends got the idea to put a group together, Tresvant and three others – Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell and Michael Bivins – started performing at local talent shows.

They were spotted by a local up-and-coming producer and songwriter, Brooke Payne, a local manager and choreographer, who encountered the boys at a local talent show in Roxbury. After an audition for Payne, he gave them the name New Edition to signify they were a new edition of the Jackson 5.

Maurice Starr, who wanted to create a “newer edition” of the pop act The Jackson 5, signed them to his independent Streetwise Records label and a fifth member, Ronnie DeVoe (Payne’s nephew), was added to the group. Releasing their debut album, Candy Girl, in 1983. The album was a successful launching pad for the group, spawning the teen-oriented hit singles “Popcorn Love,” “Is This the End” and the title track.

Born May 17, 1986, He is an actor and singer. He is the brother of identical twin actresses Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry and is known for his role on the show Smart Guy as the main character TJ on The WB, though the show gained later recognition on Disney Channel. Mowry was cast as the voice of ten-year-old super genius Wade Load on Kim Possible as a nod to this role.

He is also known for his roles as Michelle Tanner’s best friend Teddy on Full House and Tucker Dobbs on Freeform’s comedy show Baby Daddy.

Born June 1, 1961, Curry is best known for his role as Mark Cooper, ex–basketball player turned teacher on the ABC sitcom Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper which originally aired from 1992 to 1997. Curry also served as one of the various hosts of the syndicated series It’s Showtime at the Apollo during the early 1990s.

He is a regular on the American version of the improvisational comedy television series Whose Line Is It Anyway? He was the host of the daytime talk show The Wayne Brady Show, was the original host of Fox’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics! and has hosted Let’s Make a Deal since its 2009 revival.

Born June 20, 1949, He is a singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, and television judge. He rose to fame in the 1970s as a songwriter and the co-lead singer of funk band the Commodores; writing and recording the hit singles “Easy”, “Sail On”, “Three Times a Lady” and “Still”, with the group before his departure. In 1980, he wrote and produced the US Billboard Hot 100 number one single “Lady” for Kenny Rogers.

Born June 20th 1980, She is an actress, singer, producer, television host, and model. Sumpter began her career as host of Best Friend’s Date (2004–2005), a reality series on The N. In 2005, she landed the role of Layla Williamson in the ABC daytime soap opera, One Life to Live, where she starred regularly through 2010. In the same year, Sumpter made her movie debut in her leading female role in the musical drama Stomp the Yard: Homecoming.

RIP: Lynn Hamilton (April 25, 1930 – June 19, 2025). She was an actress, best known for her recurring roles as Donna Harris, Fred Sanford's girlfriend and later fiancée on the sitcom Sanford and Son (1972–1977) and Verdie Grant Foster on The Waltons (1972-1981).

Hamilton passed away at her home in Chicago on June 19, 2025, at the age of 95.
