Iโve been a little offline these past few weeksโฆโฆmoving between the Gilis,
Bali and a few other places that needed seeing properly.
I didnโt post much while I was away.
Some experiences are better felt first,
written later.
I did make notes though.
A handful of places stood out, the ones that deserved a quiet mention when the time felt right.
This was one of them.

Some places donโt try to impress you.
They let the setting do the work.
Cafรฉ Del Mar is one of those places.
I wonโt say how long I stayedโฆonly that the afternoon slipped quietly into evening,
and no one seemed in a hurry to leave.
โจ The ocean out front.
โจ An infinity pool catching the last light.
โจ A drink sweating gently on the edge of the table.
Everything is moving at the right pace.
THE FOOD
Mediterranean at heart.
Light, fresh, unfussy.
Seafood that tastes like it belongs by the water.
Crisp salads.
Plates designed to be sharedโฆor quietly enjoyed on your own.
Nothing shouting for attention.
Everything exactly where it should be.
THE SOUND
Music that understands the moment.
โจbChilled house.
โจ Deep electronic tones.
The kind of soundtrack that lifts the mood
without ever demanding it.
You feel it more than you hear it.
SUNSET
This is when the room changes.
The sky softens.
Orange fades into pink.
Palms turn to silhouettes.
Cameras come out, but even then, most people pauseโฆ.before pressing the button.
Some moments deserve a second of silence.
Cafรฉ Del Mar isnโt a checklist stop
Itโs a place you drift into and realise youโre exactly where you should be.
More from the road soon.
