This year's Teacher's Day felt like it had to be celebrated in the most special way possible. Our homeroom teacher, Mr. Solihin, is a very patient and supportive figure. After discussing with my classmates, we decided to give him a sweet and memorable gift: a special cake and a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers. We wanted the gifts to be not only beautiful but also symbolize our deep gratitude.
Events
1. Planning and Procuring the Gifts
We divided the team into two: the Cake Team and the Flower Team. The Cake Team was responsible for choosing Mr. Solihin's favorite cake flavor and design, while the Flower Team was tasked with finding the best bouquet. We agreed to order a red velvet cake with the message "Our Best Teacher" and an elegant bouquet of white roses and baby's breath. All funds were collected secretly so Mr. Solihin wouldn't suspect anything.
2. The Secret Operation in the Morning
In the early morning of November 25th, we executed our secret mission. I and a few friends picked up the finished cake from the bakery, while others waited at the school gate to receive the flower delivery. We had to make sure Mr. Solihin hadn't arrived yet, as all the gifts needed to be perfectly hidden. We stored the gifts in the empty infirmary room, covered them with a thick cloth to keep them safe.
3. The Climax: The Surprise in the Classroom
After the ceremony, we asked Mr. Solihin to enter the classroom first. As soon as he sat down, we immediately locked the door. One of my friends played a quiet instrumental song. I and other representatives stepped forward, carrying the cake with the lit candle and the fragrant bouquet.
"Happy Teacher's Day, Mr. Solihin!" we exclaimed in unison.
Mr. Solihin's face looked surprised, but then it turned into a very wide smile. He looked deeply touched. I handed over the bouquet, while another friend placed the cake on the teacher's desk.
"I didn't realize you children would go to such lengths," said Mr. Solihin, trying to hold back his emotion, "This is truly beautiful. Thank you so much."
