GENTLE TENSION: White Card at Skargaze Collective
The Key Revival and the Doc! We have the pleasure of hosting Skargaze Collective. This Indonesian collective of curators was formed in late 2024 by Fala Pratika and Ahmad Fauzi, two close friends with a common fascination for screen cultures. The collective is committed to promoting the exchange of ideas and treating artistic works as gateways to meaningful encounters. Rooted in their interest in cinema, visual media and their intersections with cultural narratives, Skargaze seeks to forge connections between creators, viewers and thinkers. The collective aims to frame works of art not as mere objects of observation but as starting points for critical discourse and collaborative learning. The collective sees curatorial practices as a way to challenge dominant narratives while amplifying the often overlooked voices.

Intimacy and tension have always been at the heart of how personal and political boundaries are drawn and redrawn, especially in confined and busy spaces. These spaces, whether shaped by social rituals or hidden desires, become scenes for negotiations of identity, power, and visibility. In this program, moments of breakthrough and revelation take place in places where each gesture, silence, and glance carries the weight of an inexpressible dynamic, amplifying both connection and alienation.
Across these films, q***r bodies navigate spaces saturated with longing and restraint, inviting us into narratives that subvert spectacle in favor of quiet disruption. Through their evocative imagery and layered storytelling, they trouble the boundaries of intimacy and its representation. The restrained environments amplify every glance, touch, and word left unsaid, creating a heightened emotional landscape. Here, the personal becomes political, and the intimate transforms into a quiet confrontation of desire, power, and the weight of being seen.
