The poem "Mati Rasa" by Norman Adi Satria, tells the story of a person who for a dozen years strongly believed in the wise words often spoken by some motivators and influencers: we can create happiness by ourselves with our thoughts or mindset. During those ten years, he had never been sad at all. All pain, he can face with a smile. This condition makes him no longer need anyone to be happy. In fact, it is those who have been making other people happy who can't make themselves happy.
But at a certain point, there came a woman who drastically changed her views and mindset. for the first time, he knew what it was like to be happy. It turned out to be very different from the happiness he had created himself with his mind.
By feeling organic happiness (if he doesn't want to be called true), his sensitivity to other feelings is re-emerged, not least the sadness he deserves to show to loved ones who he later discovers are autoimmune survivors.
And he finally realized, that for a dozen years he did not create happiness, but rather numbness.
