THE SECRET OF WHY ZOMBIES DON'T ROT!

Biologically, zombies should rot and disintegrate within weeks. However, the zombies in Resident Evil never decay because the T-Virus infection drastically alters their metabolism. The virus acts as a cellular preservative, slowing neuronal decay while simultaneously promoting the regeneration of dead tissue as long as the nutrient supply is sufficient.

The T-Virus forces the zombies' bodies into a constant, aggressive survival mode. This explains why they are always hungry and hunting for fresh meat, as their bodies require a constant caloric intake to combat the natural decay process. So, their non-decomposition isn't due to a miracle, but rather to the terrifying science fiction of the T-Virus.

ETHAN WINTERS, HUMAN OR JUST MOLD?

Is Ethan Winters human or just mold? A plot twist in Resident Evil Village reveals a shocking fact: Ethan was actually dead at the beginning of Resident Evil 7 at the hands of Jack Baker. His body was revived and capable of extreme regeneration only thanks to the mutant mold infection.

Although biologically 100% mold, Ethan still possessed human consciousness and emotions. In the final moments of his life, he proved that true humanity isn't measured by his cells, but by his heroic sacrifice to save his child.

The legendary Resident Evil game was originally produced under the original name Biohazard when it was released in Japan in 1996. Capcom was forced to find a new name for the global market because the name was already trademarked by a New York hardcore punk band and a DOS computer game in the United States.

Through an internal competition, the name Resident Evil was chosen, referring to a mansion (residence) inhabited by evil creatures. To this day, Capcom uses the name Biohazard specifically for the Japanese domestic market and Resident Evil for international markets.

Why Are All Games Containing Parry Now?

The parry mechanism involves a well-timed block just before an enemy attack lands to cancel damage and trigger a counterattack. This technique is riskier than simply holding the block button because it relies on extremely precise timing to create a critical opening for the opponent.

In a unique twist, the parry became iconic thanks to "Evo Moment #37" in Street Fighter III, where Daigo Umehara turned the tide from the brink of defeat. Furthermore, many modern games now use the distinctive metallic clashing sound to provide instant psychological satisfaction to players who successfully pull it off.

This Easter egg connects Resident Evil to the legendary band Queen through song references on character costumes. Among the most iconic are Claire Redfield's jacket, which reads "Made in Heaven" and "Let Me Live," and Billy Coen's tattoo, which reads "Mother Love," both song titles from Queen's final album.

These references were intentionally included because the creators at Capcom, including Shinji Mikami, were huge fans of Freddie Mercury. These small details serve as a lasting tribute to the history of rock music in the survival horror world.

Why Does Resident Evil in Germany Have Green-Blooded Zombies?

The green-blooded zombies in the German version of Resident Evil were caused by strict regulations from the USK censorship board in the 1990s. At the time, German law prohibited extreme violence against humanoids, so Capcom changed the blood color to green to make enemies appear alien or monstrous.

This measure was taken so the game could remain legally sold and not be banned in the German market. While the aesthetics were different, this censorship was the only way for fans there to continue enjoying this iconic horror adventure.
