Nature’s Most Protective Bird Parent
The Malabar Pied Hornbill is one of the most fascinating birds found in the forests of India and Sri Lanka. Known for its huge yellow beak and striking black-and-white feathers, this bird has an unbelievable nesting habit. When breeding season begins, the female seals herself inside a tree hole using mud and fruit pulp, leaving only a tiny gap. The male then brings food every day until the chicks are strong enough to leave the nest. Their favorite food is figs, but they also eat insects, reptiles, and small animals. This incredible teamwork helps protect their babies from predators in the wild.
