The MASEAN Group of Journals successfully hosted a seminar in Jakarta, focusing on international collaboration among medical journals in ASEAN countries. Organized by the Indonesian Medical Association and Majalah Kedokteran Indonesia (MKI) JInMA, the event attracted 147 participants via Zoom, including esteemed speakers from across the region.
Prof. Dr. dr. Dwiana Ocviyanti, Sp.OG (K), MPH, chair of the committee, opened the seminar, followed by dr. Ulul Albab, Sp.OG, Secretary General of PB IDI. Key presentations included topics on international collaboration, publication ethics, and the integration of artificial intelligence in medical writing, featuring experts such as Associate Professor Mahesh Choolani from Singapore, Prof. Mulia Datuk Dr. Lekhraj Rampal from Malaysia, and Prof. dr. Agus Rizal Ardy Hariandy Hamid, Sp.U(K), FICRS, Ph.D., from Indonesia.
Carrying the theme "Scientific Harmony: Strengthening International Relations Through Medical Journal Collaboration in ASEAN Countries," several representatives of journals from the ASEAN region and Indonesian journals also delivered their respective presentations at this event.
The seminar aimed to foster long-term collaborations among ASEAN nations, with plans for a new ASEAN medical journal that will engage editors from member countries. Prof. Ocviyanti emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating it represents a significant step towards enhancing the international recognition of scientific publications from the region.
The event highlighted the need for cooperation in medical research and publication, ensuring that participants gained valuable insights into effective journal management and article creation.
