This is a map of the world, and if you look closely, you'll notice that it's made up of a huge number of countries. There are currently around 195 countries in the world, and at first glance, they might seem like nothing worth visiting except the oceans. But that's not true. If you look more closely, you'll discover that approximately 1% of the Earth's landmass has never been claimed by any country or individual. In theory, this 1% is lawless, uninhabited, and completely unoccupied by humans. This means it has the same legal basis as the surface of the moon. Places like this do exist. But why doesn't anyone want this part of Africa? And what's really going on?
