The Bambo Strike - A - Light
A very simple old technique for making fire is by hitting stones on bamboo sticks which have a high silica content.
The natural silica in bamboo skin will produce sparks when scratched with hard stone, pottery, ceramics, porcelain, glass, flint, even steel. The sparks produced are of such low temperature that they can barely be seen on a bright day.
The sparks from the bamboo will be clearly visible if I do it in a dark place or at night
