In this instant digital world, where there are so many post-truth hoaxes and so on, we need an ideological figure like Che Guevara. Courageously riding his marxist horse for a grand entrance to the capitalist centre, Che is sending a message to the post-truth world that the capital-based economy is toppling over for its unsustainability and monopoly-centeredness. The image of a modern world is a post-truth hoax, basically a system that was designed to be profitable far more to the advantage of a minority who have capital and influence hence can control the power over the majority of the proletariat who strive to make ends meet.

"Ronce Berdarah"

The Chronicle of Java narrated Arya Penangsang’s guts poured out in a battle and was still able to hold on and fight back Sutawijaya by wrapping his guts around his kris’ (dagger) sheath like a coil of rope. Unfortunately, one wrong move when he drew the kris free of the sheath had cut his guts and cost him his life. Derived from that, putting a wreath of jasmine beads around the krises’ sheath of Javanese grooms then becomes customary in Javanese weddings. This work tells the bloody background is pictured as the will of putting everything to the sake of a marriage, for better or worse until death do them apart.

The Sea and The Monster

Known for its spice resources, in the 16th century, Indonesia was the pearl in the eyes of foreign countries of spice traders so that there was known a term “spice route”. Sailors and sea masters made a false story and map of the sea full of monsters of this route to prevent, misguide, and outcompete other countries from finding the resource.

"Gunungan"

The culture of wayang, Indonesian shadow puppetry, has been influential in the life of Javanese people for the story, the message, and the life lesson. Gunungan (Javanese “mountains”), one of wayang, depicts the start and the end of life as it is used as the opening and closing of the show. This works present life to start from nothing to then grow the tree of life, and embrace “moksha” when the time has come for one to reach the end of and be freed and liberated.
