Derived from Buddhist philosophy, anātman (Sanskrit: अनात्मन्) refers to the notion of “no-self” or the illusion of self“. Anatman Pictures is a commercial & documentary production company based in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was founded in 2013 by Mahatma Putra, an Indonesian documentary filmmaker, and co-founded by Natasha May (Producer, Travel Blogger, Designer) & Muttaqiena Imaamaa (Producer, Write

r). In 2014 Fariz Maulana (Producer) joined the team and strengthen our vision. In 2015, Anatman concentrate on commercial video production, mainly for digital advertising campaign. Over time, Anatman Pictures gained trust from its clients and were offered bigger advertising projects due to its quality production. Renowned brand name clients and top agencies are now interested in the company’s services. Agencies such as McCann Erikson and Ogilvy & Mather have trusted its production to Anatman. Anatman have also work on several advertising campaign for Johnson & Johnson and Coca-Cola. Anatman Pictures elaborate the philosophy and the spirit of no-self to its film production. If there is no single ‘I’ we could understand that everything in the world is interconnected –just like a plate of food you eat everyday! Where the rice is imported from a small rice field in Thailand, the fresh vegetables picked from your neighborhood, and the dessert are fruits from south America– we are connected to every good and bad story that happens in the world everyday.

Belajar langsung dari praktisi film di Anatman Pictures! 🎬

(Producer) berbagi tentang workflow produksi dari pre-pro hingga post-pro, sementara (Assistant Director) mengajak interns mendalami storytelling dan peran AD dalam membangun alur cerita.

Lewat sesi sharing ini, para interns juga diajak untuk berdiskusi, sehingga dapat melihat bagaimana ide berkembang menjadi karya film yang utuh. Semoga insight ini bisa jadi bekal berharga untuk terus belajar dan berkembang di industri perfilman 🌟

Panji (Producer) shared about the production workflow from pre-pro to post-pro, while Wina (Assistant Director) invited the interns to dive into storytelling and the role of an AD in shaping the narrative.

Through the collaboration of Anatman Pictures x Earthworm Foundation, we documented stories from three villages — Batu Sasak, Mak Teduh, and Kerumutan — showing how communities prove that sustainability and economic growth can go hand in hand.

Thank you to everyone who attended the limited screening of the documentary A Tale of the Stolen River at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta (September 14, 2025) 🎬✨

This documentary, a collaboration between Project Multatuli and Anatman Films, follows the daily life of a family in Sepaku, Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan — whose lives are caught in uncertainty due to the ambitious development of the new capital city (IKN)

The presence and warm discussions from the audience have become an important part of this film’s journey 💬
