some of our yum yum hongkong eats!!!
pineapple bun after pineapple, cha chaan teng hopping all day err day for breakfast! if you come to kam wah café, try the french toast with butter! this was surprisingly really good?! like light but also there was a hint of citrusy so didn’t leave us feeling heavy from the butter & egg
something i love about travelling in asia is the amount of comforting meals you can get! bring cash if you come to sheung hei! order the fish, cantonese dish style 新會陳皮蒸斑翅 and & their sizzling claypot, we just ordered the most famous one, they mix it for you on the spot. I would say the claypot was super super crispy, made the rice flakey and slightly stuck to my teeth (if you don’t mind that) but the flavors were p fire!
this sourdough egg tart altered my brain chemistry for sure. Bakehouse can be found in multiple locations around HK but this was close to Tsim Tsa Shui, Mongkok area!
So soft with a slight crispy crust with a bit of bite, not too sweet, yummyyy. Wish i ate this for my last morning breakfast meal before flying out, still lowkey regret not getting it hahah
oof i was p surprised by the goose here, so tender, no left over odour from the goose!! Don’t forget to ask for more green onion😆 the sauce adds an extra umph you didn’t know you needed.
Other than the goose, i would say the pork & chicken are quite comparable to Vancouver’s Parker Place HK BBQ and HK BBQ master🤭
The double steamed pudding is not a viral tiktok or insta hoax! To my surprise, it was a sweet milk pudding, not your softest type of milk pudding but the texture reminds me a lot of beancurd with ginger sauce (iykyk), i love me a good milk pudding tbh. So if you’re in Causeway bay area, check this out!
Was nice & comforting to also get the hot ginger steamed milk pudding! I would say the milk is nothing too special, i still prefer hokkaido milk, but still p good for you to try!
Sam really wanted to take me here to try the stir-fried beef! It was a super memorable meal for him and he mentioned sir oi man sang was still there and super friendly!! Can’t wait to try this next time i’m back in hongkong!
