A Letter of Gratitude
from Stanley Joewono
There are moments in life when you stand at the starting line — not knowing if your body will carry you to the finish, not knowing if the dream is too big, too wild, too far. In those moments, I have never stood alone. And for that, I am overwhelmed with gratitude.
To Jesus my Savior — You are the reason I am still here. You gave strength to a body that was never supposed to run, and turned my weakness into a testimony. Every step I take is Yours.
To my wife , parents, and sister — you have loved me through the hardest days, the hospital visits, the setbacks, and the sleepless nights before race day. You never told me to stop dreaming. You simply held my hand and said, go.
To Pak and the Eiger team — your “yes” changed everything. You saw something in this story worth telling, and I will never forget that.
To , , , and of — you showed up not just with cameras, but with hearts wide open. You cried with me, laughed with me, and ran alongside me in ways you may never fully know. You are not my crew. You are my family.
To Coach — you believed in a pace I couldn’t yet see in myself. Every personal best has your fingerprints on it.
To Mas and the .id team — when the doctor told me to stop, you helped me find a way to keep going — safely, carefully, and with so much care. You gave me my legs back.
To my beloved , my Strava family, and every fellow runner who ever shouted my name at a finish line or sent a kudos on a hard day — you made me feel seen. You made me feel worthy of the road.
And to every single person watching this film — thank you for giving this story your time, your attention, and your heart. I hope it reminds you that no matter what your body carries, no matter what the odds say — you are still allowed to dream.
With all the love a runner’s heart can hold,
