Two More Individuals Face Charges in North 18th Street Investigation
Following grand jury indictments, two additional individuals have been charged as part of the ongoing investigation into the North 18th Street incident.
Antoine Hockaday II, 27, of Henrico County, turned himself in at the Richmond Justice Center on April 10 without incident. He now faces a charge related to assisting after the incident.
Xavier Thomas, 27, of Petersburg, was taken into custody in another jurisdiction on April 15. He now faces a charge involving firearm possession. A booking photo is not yet available.
The incident occurred early Saturday, February 21, at approximately 2:47 a.m., when a Richmond Police officer on patrol in Shockoe Bottom observed a large crowd involved in disturbances in the 00-block of North 18th Street. Responding officers located a 23-year-old woman from Petersburg who was unresponsive at the scene.
Additional officers then located a 42-year-old man from Henrico County, also unresponsive. Both individuals were later pronounced deceased.
In addition to those two individuals, seven others were injured and transported to local hospitals. Hockaday was among those who sustained injuries during the incident. Two other individuals connected to the situation were previously charged in March.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
