The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), drew significant public attention during his visit to Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Public enthusiasm in welcoming Jokowi was overwhelming, with crowds packing the provincial capital, Kupang, to greet him. Although he no longer holds the office of President, his presence was met with a warm and enthusiastic reception from thousands of NTT residents during his visit from Friday (July 31, 2026) to Sunday (August 2, 2026).
Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also received an honorary traditional title from the people of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) being named "Raja Timur" during a cultural carnival held in the Lai-Lai Besi Kopan (LLBK) neighborhood of Kupang City, NTT, on Saturday (August 1, 2026).
