The story goes that he told Kainehe Hunt that he missed the shot and did not take a photo of this wave. Then everyone laughed and asked is he was serious. He’s still alive. As far as we know he’s still kicking. Cover No. 4 of The Photo Issue is from TED GRAMBEAU who entered this image into The 2026 Flow Photo Contest. The image is of a surfer named Rodrigo Reinoso practicing his breath holding skills in case he’s ever in a serious situation. The story goes that Mr. Reinoso escaped without sustaining serious injury but was later asked to refrain from practicing his breath holding skills where people are trying to surf.
