Hibachi Steak, Shrimp, and Fried Rice with Yum Yum Sauce 🍤🥩🍚
A vibrant and flavorful Japanese-inspired meal with tender steak, juicy shrimp, savory fried rice, and creamy Yum Yum sauce—a true restaurant-style feast at home!
Ingredients:
For the Steak and Shrimp:
1 lb steak (sirloin or tenderloin), cut into bite-sized cubes
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium)
2 tbsp sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ginger powder
½ tsp black pepper
For the Fried Rice:
3 cups cooked rice (day-old works best)
2 tbsp sesame oil
1 cup frozen peas and carrots
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 eggs, scrambled
3 tbsp soy sauce
For the Vegetables:
2 medium zucchinis, sliced
2 medium carrots, julienned
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Yum Yum Sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp water (to thin if needed)
Instructions:
1️⃣ Prepare the Yum Yum Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, paprika, rice vinegar, garlic powder, sugar, and water. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
2️⃣ Cook the Steak and Shrimp:
Heat 1 tbsp sesame oil in a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook the steak cubes for 3-4 minutes, tossing occasionally, until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add another 1 tbsp sesame oil. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
3️⃣ Make the Fried Rice:
Heat sesame oil in the skillet over medium heat. Add peas, carrots, and garlic, and cook for 2 minutes. Push the vegetables to the side and scramble the eggs in the skillet.
Stir in the cooked rice and soy sauce, tossing to combine. Cook for 3-4 minutes until heated through.
4️⃣ Sauté the Vegetables:
In another skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Sauté the zucchini and carrots with garlic powder, salt, and pepper for 3-4 minutes until tender but crisp.
5️⃣ Assemble and Serve:
Plate the fried rice, steak, shrimp, and vegetables together. Drizzle with Yum Yum sauce or serve it on the side for dipping.
