My journey with cats began in 2015.
At that time, I was still working as employee.
Eventually, I chose to take early retirement, and since then my life has been devoted to caring for cats.
I have lost count of how many cats have come and gone through my life.
These photos are only a small part of the memories saved in my Google Photos on this phone (2016ā2017). The memories before 2017 were on another phone that is now broken.
But the memories in my heart are still very much alive.
Over the years, there have been countless tears, sleepless nights, and so much money spent on food and veterinary care. Yet somehow, love always finds a way to keep me going.
For many people, achievements may look like a new house, a new car, luxury bags, or traveling the world.
My achievement looks different.
My achievement is the quiet, unconditional love from these four-legged souls who found their way into my life.
They stayed with me through some of my darkest moments ā depression, anxiety, GERD, loss, and betrayal.
And somehow, in their silent presence, their gentle eyes, and their simple trustā¦š
they became part of the medicine that helped heal me.
Saving them was never just about rescuing cats.
In many ways, they were also rescuing me.
