District Administration, Police, CWC and JJB Ramban Reunites Missing Girl with Family after 3 Years

Ramban, September 20: In a tireless joint effort to reunite missing children with their families, the District Administration Ramban in coordination with the District Police, Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Ramban and Juvenile Justice Board Ramban successfully reunited a 14-year-old girl with her parents hailing from Chhattisgarh after tracing and verifying their details.

The girl had been found on June 22, 2022, by Police Station Ramban and handed over to CWC Ramban. She was subsequently provided care at Nariniketan Doda, Government Girls’ Shelter Home Trikuta Nagar Jammu, Nari Niketan Udhampur, and later at Parisha Ramban. Today, she was formally handed over to her extended family at CWC office Ramban in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan; Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban, Arun Gupta; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Varunjeet Singh Charak; and officials of CWC, Juvenile Justice Board Ramban and Mission Vatsalya departments.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner lauded the relentless efforts of CWC Ramban—particularly its Chairperson, Nighat Ghani, and Member JJB Shah Niwaz tracing the girl’s extended family and facilitating her return. He expressed hope that CWC would continue to discharge its responsibilities with similar zeal, spirit and mission.

SSP Ramban Arun Gupta also appreciated the efforts of CWC and JJB Ramban for their sustained commitment to the welfare of children in distress and assured every possible support to the committee in such noble causes round-the-clock.

The girl’s parents and family members expressed their deep gratitude to the District Administration, Ramban Police, especially CWC Ramban and JJB for facilitating her reunion with her family besides providing parental care, compassion and support to their daughter, including her social and educational development during her stay.
