This is how it came about… I have always liked the beach and waterviews, so when I started photographing things again with a digital camera it seemed only natural that the water figured highly as a subject. Oh, to clarify, SOW is Sunrise Over Water, love acronyms… must be the geek in me! Being a highly focused “business” person at the time it was only early mornings that I got to be out and about
to experience the water. Living by the beach meant that sunrise and waterviews were simple. So in looking back I saw that the iconic pictures that I enjoyed most, were of sunrise over the water. As I came to share my passion with friends so they preferred the sunrise pics more than the others… so that is how I became to focus on sunrise over water. When I quit the rat race (www.iquittheratrace.com) I had two primary subjects to my photography and one of those was SOW. In travelling it was easy to continue doing SOW in fact it drove a lot of experiences and to this day allows me to be up and going early so I make the most of every day. More than 10 years after I started doing SOW pictures, this site (page) is about the new and the older versions of SOW that I have tucked away to share. I look forward to moving into new and fun locations and as with Coolum Beach variations on a theme.
