OUR STORY SO FAR

Asa Film is a production company involved in documentary and fiction film. We make inspiring and captivating programming that speaks to large audiences both locally and internationally. In documentary we provide services to international broadcasters such as BBC, National Geographic, Discovery World, CBC Canada, SBS Australia and Channel 4 UK. We work with numerous international

production houses as fixers, location producers and researchers. We also produce PSA’s and TV programs within Indonesia. In fiction film we make short films of any genre. Our first short, SOWAN (The Visit), won best film at the Education Film Festival, Jakarta 2014 and Indonesian Film Festival in Melbourne, Australia 2015. It also received nominations in Festival Film Indonesia and Indonesian Film France Festival 2014. So, why not sit with us and have a cup of coffee? We can share our stories and, who knows, maybe come up with a brilliant idea... or two!

We decided to make a film about it,
from D1 of training all the way to Race Day.

No trail-running background.
No grand plan.

Pure guts, slight FOMO and healthy dose of overconfidence

So much heart behind every Ogoh-ogoh, with all the spirit, creativity, and community.

They represent Bhuta Kala, the dark chaotic side of existence, both in the world and within us.

And Nyepi becomes the gentle pause we need, to let it go, reset, and find our way back to balance.

Working with the camtrap specialist, Declan Burley, and the Rhino itself is full of learning and process.

It may be an early stage in Adita Purnama's career as a camtrap assistant but it has already brought one the most precious experience for him.
