There is a time and a place for a studio shoot. But if you have the budget for one shoot this year, Iโm sorry to say, you do not qualify for it yet ๐

Showing off your client experience online is a surefire way to connect with people who want to experience that in real life. You, in a studio, in a lovely blazer, looking absolutely gorge, says nothing to me other than you got some photos taken and you look really nice.
It is not telling me, as a potential client, what it is like to walk through your door. It is not showing me how warm and welcoming you are. It is not showing me anything about the experience ๐ซ
A few things I always say to my clients:
Invest in a photographer who shoots both photo and video. This is exactly why we have partnered with the insanely talented Katie and Em at ALSOKNOWNAS MEDIA โจ
Prioritise content that works across both your website and your socials. These are actually two different things. Website content needs to work in both landscape and portrait, because some people still visit on a laptop and that image needs to fill a screen beautifully. Nine times out of ten, iPhone photos do not cut it for your website. A professionally shot image is always going to be a million times better.
Save your money on renting a studio space. If you have your own workspace, show it off. People want to see what they are walking into. High quality photos of your actual space, your team in action, the real experience, that is what converts a new client.
Studio shoots absolutely have their place. I love them for people building a personal brand, moving into education or mentorship, or working with clients virtually. If you are selling services and treatments out of a physical space, a studio shoot does not do that job.
If you have the budget for multiple shoots in a year, then yes, absolutely do the studio shoot. You tend to get better headshots and better team content in a studio, and the lighting is more controlled for portraits.
But if you only have the budget for one shoot, please do not do the studio shoot. Spend that money on showing off your experience instead ๐๐ผ
