Thanks to Dan Holland from This Is Bandon for the pic and the chat this morning.

It’s not every day that you meet a reformed pirate in Bandon so it was as double good fortune to meet two this morning on South Main Street. Paul Broderick and Dave Heffernan were colleagues,DJs and producers with the much loved and greatly missed WKLR,they entertained and informed the people of Bandon and beyond from January 84 until December 88, great memories of a great local station.

Good to hear that both lads are still involved in radio,Dave in consultation and training and Paul with West Cork FM,online Saturdays and Sundays and available on catch up anytime.

🥊 A Different Legend This Saturday 🥊✨
Most eyes will be on Croke Park this evening, not for a GAA final or a concert but for the final boxing match of her long and superb career, we say goodbye to Katie Taylor - The Bray Bomber and wish her all the best this evening and for the future - a great ambassador for women’s sport.
Did you know she used to be a footballer??
And speaking of… the Premiership is back this weekend too…

We mentioned the ongoing summer festival season which is quickly coming to the end but the 15th of August, as well as being a Catholic feast day was traditionally and is still a major day for two villages at opposite ends of West Cork - Allihies and Timoleague.
