It’s a beautiful start to the longest day of the year - the unfortunate thing is, it’s all downhill from here…
When you read through the list of names who have graced the stage in Slane since that first gig in 1981, many of them were only starting out and would ultimately go on to become headliners themselves but the original was only from down the road (Thin Lizzy) as were the support act (U2).
All that and what followed was the dream of one man with a vision that gave young, up and coming bands a chance. RIP Lord Henry…

One of the few Saturdays of the year when we have split programming with all boats heading to the west for the 2025 All Islands GAA, wishing our friends from the West Cork islands all the best for the day ahead. An early start for the BICR team on Thursday to prepare for the live broadcast which begins from 7:30 this morning on Bere Island Community Radio.

Many would say that radio listenership is dying but according to a recent poll on The Journal.ie, over 80% of people are regular listeners - either daily (71%) or a few times a week (11%) - so that makes us very happy - that and it being another beautiful weekend in store - blue skies and sunshine all the way so get out, enjoy and take us with you.
