MY BABYGIRL IS 6 😭

I don’t like celebrating Alaska’s birthday because then I’m reminded of how she’s getting older. But her legacy needs to be recorded!

Alaska’s spirit is brave, beautiful, gentle, kind, smart and inspiring. She’s the best dog in the entire world (sorry Smoky Joe)

Thank you for being our best friend, adventure partner, ray of light and the best thing we’ve ever decided on.

Your puppy years were chaos but I wouldn’t have traded those years for anything. I wish you were a puppy now so we had more time with you.

I love you so much Alaska, here’s to many, many more years of adventures with you by our side. Thank you for loving us and coming with us across hemispheres, in RV’s and everywhere in between.

You are my heart.

Alaska and I were in the NY Times today! Thank you to Lauren Sloss for the amazing write-up on US National Parks with Dogs - the group we created when we were traveling the National Parks in 2020! I hope more people can find this resource and recreate responsibly with their dog in the National Park Service!

Do 🌻 not 🌻 pick 🌻 or 🌻 dig 🌻 up 🌻 wildflowers 🌻 on 🌻 public 🌻 lands!

Picking wildflowers can disrupt the ecosystem's natural balance and harm the pollinators, birds and wildlife that rely on them for food and shelter. Take a perfect photo for the gram but be careful and don't break the law.

❣️Three Rivers Winery

If you’re on a wine tour in the Walla Walla Valley, make sure you stop at this wonderful, spacious winery with LAWN GAMES

Reasons to visit

🍷Husband and Wife team who are obsessed with wine and love dogs! Hell yeah

🍷They had a disc golf course, co****le AND giant jenga

🍷They had a huge rolling lawn and well-behaved dogs were allowed off leash (ours were kept on leash)

🍷Big deck for all the sunbathing (as you can see, Alaska LOVED this)

❣️Canvasback

If you’re on a wine tour in the Walla Walla Valley, make sure you stop at this beautiful, peaceful place with DELICIOUS Rose and Red!

Reasons to visit

🍷Rose and cheese plate? Need I say more? Their Rosé is the best I’ve ever had, so velvety and amazing

🍷The outdoor area is nicely spaced and huge for our anxious dogs

🍷The field next door was perfect for Smoky JOE to spot little critters- he was thriving there!

🍷They have a BARKCHUTERIE board for our best friends - how cool is that? (Although Alaska is allergic to pork and poultry, so we didn’t order it)

🍷Tons of gorgeous grass for belly rolling

❣️ Castillo de Feliciana

If you’re on a wine tour in the Walla Walla Valley, make sure you stop in Milton-Freewater, OR. It borders Walla Walla and the wine region here is perfect for those little delicious grapes we call VINO

Reasons to visit Castillo de Feliciana Vineyard & Winery 💃🏻

🍷The wine is WONDERFUL - we had the Mericoles blend (“Wednesday” wine) because it’s so easy to drink, it’s a good wine for a Wednesday. It was like BUTTER

🍷 Woman-owned and operated

🍷 No sales tax because it’s still in Oregon 😍

🍷They host fundraisers for local rescues! There’s one on the 22nd!

🍷The grounds are absolutely stunning and perfect for my grass-loving girl, Alaska. She was rolling and sunbathing and thriving. Made me so damn happy. There’s also a lot of room between tables!

(It’s been forever since we had a day of sunshine, can you tell?)
