With 2 young fellas at home now, life is busier than ever. Photography has taken a back seat but when I do get out, I've been focusing on ambitious missions over local trips; which brings me onto the latest adventure.
While looking at light pollution maps of Ireland about 5 years ago on a dreary Winter's day, I found this spot and imagined to myself what the night sky would look like in what was one of Ireland's only Bortle 1 locations.
Fast forward to 2 weeks ago and I finally got to see it for myself. After 4.5 hours of driving and 2 hours of hiking, Alan Hartigan and I found ourselves on the edge of Ireland without another person or light in sight. We set up camp, blessed with a clear moonless night and enjoyed the show unfolding in front and above us. The best night sky I've ever seen, and a scene I'm almost certain nobody else has ever shot. Epic.
