Delighted to have Thunder in school with me recently from who is currently undergoing training to become an Autism Assistance dog. π Iβm also delighted to be an ambassador for them as part of their next Christmas campaign. πππΌ
Each autism assistance dog requires two years of training and significant resources before being placed with a family. It costs β¬25,000 to train one dog, and currently the charity doesnβt receive government funding, but also donβt charge families a penny, and opt to fundraise through communities, like schools. ππΌ
These dogs provide safety, independence and companionship to children with autism, and all are provided free of charge to families who need them. The funds raised also go towards their school support dog programme, providing highly trained dogs to ASD units. πΆ
Their Christmas campaign is up and running, so you can get involved by pulling out your Christmas jumper and organising a fundraiser day in your school/workolace, or by simply donating to the cause. π (youβll find the link on their page, so give them a follow.) ππΌ
Letβs help Thunder get fully trained. Heβs up for the task! πππΌ
