On Stories from Cork and beyond this evening on CUHfm, John Greene looks back on an interview with Singer Songwriter the late Johnny Duhan.
As a 16 year old, he began his career as lead singer with Grannie's Intentions.
Duhan was a talented philosopher, poet and storyteller.
His two famous songs 'Don't give up till its over and the Voyage, the latter being a huge hit for Christy Moore.
On the morning of November 12th 2024, while taking his regular swim at Silverstone beach near his home in Barna in County Galway, Johnny Duhan got into difficulty and lost his life. Gardai believed that he may have gone to the assistance of a woman who was swimming on the same beach at the time and also lost her life
