It’s been a remarkable week for the Irishman, who battled through multiple deciding frames on his way to glory. This triumph marks Allen’s 12th career ranking title.

Cork snooker star Aaron Hill is back on the big stage this Monday, September 22nd, live on ITV4, as he faces World No.1 Judd Trump in the opening round of the 2025 British Open.

Hill comes into the tournament in fine form, having reached the quarter-finals of the English Open earlier this week, and he’ll be aiming to carry that momentum into Cheltenham. Their last meeting saw the Corkman stun Trump 4–1 at the Northern Ireland Open — a result that will give him plenty of confidence heading into this clash.

It’s set to be a thrilling encounter. Don’t miss the action tomorrow night at 7pm on ITV4.

Aaron Hill has booked his place in the quarter-finals of the 2025 English Open with an impressive 4-1 victory over Jack Lisowski.

On his way to the last eight, Hill has already taken down Ali Carter, Stephen Maguire, and Yao Pengcheng, showcasing a series of outstanding performances. He wrapped up the game with a century break of 123.

Cork’s own Aaron Hill staged a brilliant comeback at the English Open, overturning a 3-1 deficit to edge out Ali Carter 4-3.

Carter had looked in control, producing a flawless 147 maximum in the fourth frame and a century in the opener. But the Corkman kept his composure, fighting back superbly to take the match in a tense decider.

Cork’s boxing sensation Callum Walsh delivered a statement performance as he secured victory over Fernando Vargas Jr.

From the opening bell, Walsh was in complete control, dominating the action and earning a clear decision on all three judges’ scorecards. His win came on the high-profile stage of the Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford card — where Crawford defeated Canelo to claim undisputed status.

Lewis Crocker has defeated Paddy Donovan in Belfast to claim the IBF Welterweight Championship.

It was a tense, hard-fought battle across 12 rounds, with the key moments being Crocker sending the Limerick man to the canvas twice. Many observers, though, felt Donovan controlled much of the fight and may have been unlucky not to get the nod from the judges.

Still, Ireland has a new World Champion — congratulations to Lewis and his team on a huge win. And no doubt, Paddy will be back stronger.
