🎅🦌🦌On Friday I really did take a ride in Santa's Sleigh - I promise.....!
It was an extraordinary day of generousity and kindness as the Kinsale Lions organised a Toy bonanza for all the children in hospital 🎀🎉🥳🎄✨🎷 Santa even had the Taoiseach as his little helper!
Filming out the back of Santa's Sleigh was one location that I hadn't tried in 10 years in business!!! 😄🎥

👩‍💼 Portraits are representations of people that capture not only a physical likeness, but also the essence of who they are.
Last week I had the pleasure of shooting new headshots for two talented actors. Actor headshots have a unique purpose: they need to sell the actor to someone else’s vision of a completely different character. It’s a fascinating challenge—one I absolutely love.
Whether I’m photographing actors, professionals, or people from any walk of life, my goal is always the same:
✨ to reveal personality, authenticity, and that special something that makes each person unique.
And it all happens in a fraction of a moment.
In 1/125 of a second—just 8 milliseconds—I aim to capture a connection, a spark, a story.
👸 Whether it’s an actor, a CEO, a designer, or someone who swears they’re “not photogenic,” I love the puzzle of capturing that undeniable, unrepeatable human energy. 🌞

EINSTEIN cracked the theory of relativity while playing 'Lina' his violin 🎻
🎥 As the gimmick of Black Friday 💰 splashes onto the scene, I decided to reflect on this years 70th CIFF and the quote:
🎶 "Culture is not consumption - it is communion. Therefore let us invest our trust, attention and the all important funding into the arts" 🖌️
💶 The ROI to Ireland's Cultural economy surpasses the original cash injection. This is often overlooked with preference given to sport in the media. We need more outlets for arts, more creative hubs and more discussion and support on the radio and in print.
🎬 The film festival brings expressions of creativity that would otherwise be unavailable through mainstream media. Films with authenticity and fresh voices that are provocative, funny, inspiring and get us thinking beyond the cliches. 🎭
So here's to the creative in all of us humans 🎉

🎥 Now that's the brief, can we have a promo?
Making a promo with footage of the show or even rehearsals is one thing, but before it has even gone into pre-production is quite another - so the imagination muscle (not AI) kicks in.... Searching for stock to give that all important look and feel of a reworking version for stage, of the famous film with Humphrey Bogart, is crucial. Plus the stage version is a play of a 'Live Radio Version' of the story set in 1940s with a Foley on stage......Ok you might have to see it to believe it!

'In Conversation with Guiney' and Brady The Irish Times📽️ Triskel Arts Centre last Sunday as part of the Cork International Film Festival, we learnt that Ed sees producing films "akeen to midwifery....assisting the birth of something monumental"....He has certainly assisted the birth of some extraordinary films such as 'Poor Things', 'The Room', 'The Lobster' and most recently 'Pillion' Pictures Group showing as part of CIFF 🎞️ . What was most noticeable was Ed's pragmatic approach to the role and to the industry. He is by his own admission 'no cliched cigar smoking, desk slapping producer' 🧐 - the job requires commitment and collaboration. A reminder that all good work comes from a space of respect and team advocacy.
The CIF festival continues until this Sunday 💥 🎬

'Still Life' is a play by Noel Coward, which was adapted into the classic film 'Brief Encounter'. The Lighthouse Theatre Company is a critically acclaimed theatre company based in Mumbles.

Their new production of Still Life, directed by Karla Goodman and starring Sonia Beck and Adrian Metcalfe has received five-star reviews in the West Cork People and The South Wales Evening Post.

The production is coming to the Cork Arts Theatre from 20th-23rd August.

"The show must go on" 🎉 ....and it certainly did on Thursday night at Cork Opera House with Laura Noonan, Victoria Curtis, Delia Webster, Daniel Cremin and Killian Collins. 🎭 🎶

We were treated to fabulous food from the Good Day Deli and a 'potted' presentation on the history of 170 years of Cork Opera House, a backstage tour and a moment to stand on the stage! Of course I loved it - as an actress and director it is always a thrill! 😁

We also gained a glimpse into how a power house of entertainment is run - no mean feat! 💥

So many of the phrases we use come from the theatre, like 'wing it', 'In the lime light', and 'waiting in the wings'. To quote Julie Andrews “The arts make a bridge across this world in ways that nothing else can.” 💫 🕊️

Thank you Fitzgibbon aka The Culinary Celt and all the fabulous Network Cork committee for organising this special event. 👏
