Yesterday I had the pleasure of welcoming the West Cork trio to the Narrow Studio. We first discovered them at the latest Battle of the Bands and immediately fell in love with their style and energy.

We spent the afternoon demoing new songs and chatting about the importance of the writing process for any artist. At the end of the day, music is the key. It’s easy to get distracted by everything happening in the music business, but without that love and genuine obsession for creating music, none of it matters.

The last three days have been something really special.
It kicked off on Wednesday in London with our beloved at the showroom for a sneak peek at something exciting and the chance to meet so many amazing people. Then we flew to Italy for the live debut of the incredible at his EP launch with at in Alba—our first-ever Narrow Door Records event in the world of classical music.

Feeling very grateful and very happy.

We’ve been fans of these two bands for a long time, and this one’s going to be wild. Heavy Lungs (Bristol), led by the unstoppable Danny Nadelko, bring their raw intensity, chaotic energy, and big-hearted noise to Ireland for one unmissable night. Sharing the stage, Dublin trio Bucket fire up the room with their noise punk grooves, relentless energy, and a sound that’s guaranteed to shake the walls.

The good vibes were all around the room, and we felt the magic that music brings between people. This is exactly what we’ve aimed for since the day we decided to start putting on gigs.

14 years ago today I moved to Cork from Italy. I still remember how scared I was, but mainly I remember my intention to stop playing music. I was coming from a major label experience with my first ever band, No Conventional Sound, that completely destroyed my idea of doing music professionally. All the politics, all the crap, the constant ass-licking taught me that I didn’t want to do it that way.

I planned to release an EP of 4 songs under the name The Last Vinci, maybe do some gigs, and after that call it a day. Instead, look at me now 😅 Ready to hit the road again in November with my bros for another round of riffs, with a new album on the way.

I’ve never felt so blessed, in particular to have learned the importance of writing my own story and enjoying the journey. I wish I had learned this earlier.
