Next Weds and Thurs, Connect Family Resource Footsteps Programme will screen a new film HOPE THROUGH HARDSHIP: TEENS NAVIGATING POVERTY. This youth led film, was shot by Brian Connolly of Bang Bang Visual and created and performed by teenagers with lived experience of poverty in our area and involves personal testimonies .
Poverty affects young people in deeply personal and often hidden ways, impacting mental health, education, and future opportunities. By highlighting the resilience, creativity, and strength of teens navigating poverty, the film promotes awareness and empathy, while challenging common stereotypes. Aligned with the UN International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, the film will underscore the theme of dignity and the power of youth voice in tackling inequality. Funded by the Department of Social Protection.
The screening is free, and the film will be shown on a loop so drop in any time between 11 and 4pm on the 5 or 6 November to view this film.
