Could this design innovation help to solve the housing crisis? A superb Monday morning launch across national media for the compact green city – a unique idea that could change the way that we plan and build communities. The developments, predicted to save 30pc on apartment building costs, minimise roads, with cars parked in a highly-efficient perimeter shape or underneath the homes. As Claire McManus of Dublin-based JFOC Architects says, solving the housing crisis is not just about delivering units, it is about creating communities.
